Ressurrection - How the Death in Our Egotistic and Small Lives is Defeated!

In the Resurrection God proves that the negative script that most of the people see on each evening on the news about this world is not the real one. Now, because of resurrection, His Eschatological reign is good and well and would be seen and felt at times during the history as a victorious march of His Kingdom and His Church. Hopefully sooner than later the Church, His people, will understand the reality that the King is alive and He rules. That the victory is past and now we are supposed to just live out this victory in our lives and to promote His rule in all the relationships and all our responsibilities and in the contact that we have with other people and with the world at large. 
Then, wherever we are, and whatever we do and say become points of contact between the  Glorious and Victorious Kingdom of God in us and everyone and everything else we connect with. Everything that we do is a communication environment in which we affirm either God’s rule or our rule!

The resurrection interprets the correct purpose and destination of the human beings and of the creation! The resurrection is part of the correct grid for interpreting life, humanity, history and creation. It ”sets things at rights”. (NT Wright) It is about God who rules over everything that seemed to somehow take the first hand in the affairs of the universe and of the individual and corporate destiny of humans.

Then life is not about my small world where I need to try hard to make things work in order to get a little slice of happiness.  And life is not a place where everything is measured after the conformity to the way I set this small universe of mine to function. And life is not about the bad or good treatment that my most precious and important ego receives. The life I have and the life of everybody that exists is about the place that I play together with everybody and everything else in His big Story and His big Script that is uncovering with every event of the everyday.

Colossians 1.19 “For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things...”(ESV) We are reconciled to Himself, so that we can live for God – the purpose for which humanity exists in the first place. We are reconciled first of all not unto our comfort and assured salvation, but to Himself. The life we are supposed to live needs to have Christ as its content . And so, Jesus had had to resurrect, so that He can be the purpose and the content of our reconciled selves. 

That’s what we live for. For God. For Him we can employ daily the new powerful life that was brought by His resurrection. Colossians 3.4 “Christ who is your life...” and chapter 2.16 of Ephesians: “... and raised us up with Him and seated us with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus.” 

The resurrection gives me and to all Christians the purpose and the content of our new life: Christ Himself! Him being our life, we are contained in His victorious resurrection. Because our new life appeared at Jesus’ resurrection, we are supposed to have that life manifested in our relationship with ourselves and with everybody and anything else in our day to day life.

That’s a message to be preached. I need to preach it daily to myself. Jesus, my life, the victorious one is the way to live minute by minute. Sometimes, it seems too good to be true. That’s how grace is!
